Design Notes

Considerations for the sequence design included eliminating repeats of over 10 base pairs, and eliminating restriction sites for BsaI, BbsI and BsmBI. We optimized the codons for use in yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. We also included a FLAG tag to help with the detection of the sequence during Western blot tests.

Source

The part comes from the sequence of algA isolated in bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa. More information about the gene, including the original sequence, can be found here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/879142. The part also contains a sequence from Gene Designer encoding a FLAG tag for detection in Western blots.
